(SC4) Sand Castle 4 Bd/3 Ba Toggle favorite

We rented both SC2 and SC4 for a week as a family to celebrate my nephew’s San Diego wedding. The rest of the family were staying at a rental 3/10 mile away so it was perfect. THe place was clean, room to spread out and more than met our needs. The outside spaces were big enough for 17 people to spend time together, and the 3 littles enjoyed building sandcastles! Communication with staff at Magical Mission Beach was excellent. We came from the East Coast, Europe and Brazil so it was important to have a relaxing and happy visit. We did! (And the weather cooperated!!)

Great house that accommodated our family members in order for us to enjoy Mission Bay.

The house is nice, but you pay for the location. There is a 15-20 min drive from the airport, and parking is available, although we rideshared to and from since it was an easy walk to restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and beaches. Amenities are fine and the house was clean. Decks and jacuzzi are a good touch.

We asked for an early check-in considering all of us were there by noon (check-in is posted as 4pm), but never heard anything from the owner to accommodate that. We were cleaned up and out by 930am (check-out is 10am). Other than that, the place was great and I would recommend it.

House met our needs perfectly, host was super responsive. Had a small leak in one of the bathrooms and host got someone there to fix it right away. Loved that the garage door walls in the living room let us basically be on the beach without getting off the couch!

We had the best time celebrating a special birthday with family and friends. The views are incredible and the house is welcoming and inviting.

The beach house was perfect for our family vacation. We loved the easy access to both the bay and the beach.

This home was absolutely gorgeous, right on the bay, and 2 min walk from the beach on the other side. The rooftop hot tub was incredible, tons of outdoor patio space that opens into living space inside with the roll up doors. The kitchen was big and beautiful with a view making meal prep fun and easy.

The neighbors were very nice and quiet, important to follow the house rules with numbers and noise level. Owner did call us on Saturday to remind us to keep it down, really appreciated the communication.

Would stay again.

Great location—peaceful, beautiful, and roomy. Within walking distance to restaurants and the beach. The bay is perfect for paddle boarding and relaxing. The decks on the property are amazing!

First of all, the house was amazing. Everything was clean and the location and views of the bay were incredible.
But.......
The bbq burners were rusted and mostly disintegrated making it hard to bbq. My son and his family wanted to stay upstairs in the studio,but the couch was locked. When I asked to unlock it, I was told they wouldn't because it would exceed our maximum sleeping arrangement. Even though we only had 6 people in a 10 person house. The dryer ate some clothes and the mini split filter was filthy. Other than the minor issues, the place was pretty awsome. Not sure if I'll do it again because of the cost.

Nice house perfect location

It’s just as advertised. Incredible location, large property directly on boardwalk/beach, steps to the bay. 9 of us stayed and slept comfortably. Had paddle boards, bikes and many other beach accessories that we put to good use. Would highly recommend, we had an awesome stay.

We had a great stay at this awesome beach rental. We were there with our adult kids and little grand daughters. We all had a great time! The rental is exactly as pictured with all the amenities we needed. The bikes were a bonus to be able to jump on and go for a ride! We will definitely stay here again in the future if we are lucky enough to return to Mission Bay.
I also had left behind a very valuable organizer. They contacted me that they had found it and I received it back with everything inside! I was so thankful for all they did. I want to send out a special thank you to the cleaning crew!

The Hopper Family

My husband and I, and our 3 daughters and their families stayed here. There was plenty of room for all of us. Everything was very clean and it was easy to find what we needed. The house is light and bright, and super cute inside, and has the coolest glass garage door windows. The location is perfect! The beach is right across the street, and the peaceful bay is right out front. Numerous restaurants are just a quick walk away. There are 5 parking places! Lots of toys in the garage to use like bikes, paddle boards, sand toys for kids, and more. We loved this place and hope to come back again soon.

We had a wonderful stay in San Diego! Our host was super clear and communicative and left us plenty of amenities to make our stay feel like home. Having access to the bikes and paddle boards without having to rent them was a nice bonus!

We absolutely loved this home! Beautiful views, quiet and peaceful at night. Amazing being able to open up the garage doors and enjoy the breeze. The beach is right out the door and not crowded, so we were able to let our older kids go out and enjoy anytime they wanted. Having the use of paddle board’s, kayaks, beach toys, boogie boards and bikes was so much fun! Not to mention h the rooftop Hot Tub! Host was amazing offered us an earlier check-in as well as a later checkout time upon request! I hope to be able to come back and enjoy this home again soon, definitely the best house in the area!

We loved our stay at Sand castle. The property was perfect for our group and such great access to so much nearby. Loved the layout of the house and all of the paddleboards, bikes, etc! The garage roll up doors made it all feel like we were on the bay, loved the rooftop hottub as well. We’ll be back!!

Amazing place. Location on the bayside was perfect with easy walk over to Oceanside when desired. We loved being in quieter and calmer bayside. Loved all the fun toys - bikes, paddle boards, kayaks, etc… We also enjoyed the easy to walk to great restaurants. The house was amazing. Very well stocked and spacious. Property owners/manager were very attentive. We had a minor issue with a garage door and the property manager came and fixed within minutes. We’ve stayed in many Airbnb and our group, both adults and kids, agreed that this was the BEST yet.

We stayed here with my extended family and it was great! There were 9 of us and the space was perfect. It was right on the bay and very walkable to a ton of different restaurants. Would definitely recommend to others and will stay here again if we can!

The place and location was great - I was however a little taken a back that with a cleaning charge of $599 that we were still expected to strip the bed and wash the towels - trash I could understand trash so we don’t get ants however this is the first time in 8 years I’ve had to strip sheets and and wash towels

Great location in a true so-cal, surfer bro part of town with great restaurants and plenty to do. Walk out the back door and your on the beach at the bay. 60 degrees out and the kids still hit the water with the provided paddle boards and kayaks. Overall, very happy with the New Years trip and the service provided by the managers of the house.

Great location and unit. My only issue comes with the lack of communication and details on sleeping accommodations. It is advertised as comfortably sleeping 10 people. We had 9 and the host required us to send names and ages of all individuals staying at the unit well in advance of our stay. There are two pullout couches in this location. One was padlocked and the host refused to allow us to unlock it to fold into a full bed due to "capacity constraints" (despite us being under the maximum occupancy rate). It seems very reasonable to have access to all options to sleep 9 adults as long as we adhere to the house rules. Otherwise, like I stated before, it is a great venue.

Our Magical Mission Beach rental in San Diego was an absolute blast, especially for my wife's 40th birthday! We had a blast cruising around with the five beach cruisers they provided – such a cool touch.

And let's talk about those garage doors facing the bay – genius! It felt like we brought the outside in. The bay view was our backdrop for the whole celebration, and we couldn't get enough of it.

Overall, the place had this awesome vibe, and we loved every minute. If you're up for a chill spot with killer views, this Mission Beach rental is where it's at. Perfect for a celebration or just soaking in that San Diego sun. Highly recommend!

We had a great stay at mission beach and would certainly start again.
The property was clean and in a great location.
The only real issue we faced were that the code to enter the internal doors within the property were missing at check-in, which meant we had to wait a little to access the property while the host responded.
Aside from that, on the whole, the stay was enjoyable and problem free. We would recommend to friends and as I said above, would certainly stay again.

Great location for a girls reunion weekend. Bay front access was perfect as well as proximity to lots of restaurants/bars/activities. Plenty of room for 8 girls (and 8+ bags). Couldn't recommended this location enough.

We took a family trip to San Diego for a wedding. This home exceeded our high expectations.

It was such a perfect location, being right on the beach allowed kids to play within sight, as well as many restaurants within walking distance.

The home was extremely well stocked- including Ziploc bags! I've never stayed anywhere that offered these.

The hosts were very responsive from the start of the reservation through until the end. I had an issue with figuring out one of the locks (totally my user error) and the host came right over to help me.

While the unit was a multiple unit rental, we had no issues with the neighbors.

All of the gear being available to use was a HUGE money savings since we didn't have to rent anything!

I also used baby's away for baby gear rental and they worked seamlessly with Magical Mission Beach. I didn't have to coordinate anything except for the initial order.

Truly one of the best vacations we had. You won't be disappointed if you book this!

Great location and nice, unique place with garage doors opening to the beach. There was a little confusion caused by Airbnb’s system that made us think there was an extra bedroom than there was, but this didn’t seem like the host’s fault. Overall, can’t beat the location and coziness of this home!

We had an amazing stay! The views are impossible to beat and the open air concept was next level. The home had everything we needed and we had amazing weather so it couldn't have been better. We were allowed access early (12pm day of arrival instead of 4pm) and the host even texted me the night of arrival to let me know about the full moon which is one for the record books. Would highly recommend!

This airbnb is definitely an unique one, with garage door style roll up doors in the living room that create such an open feel to a beachfront view. Host was communicative and I will be definitely taking the family back here again.

My cousins and I needed a place to stay for the weekend and this location was amazing! The area is very walkable and the living garage doors are a really nice touch. The host was very responsive and everything was as described. There were even more things (like bikes and kayaks) included in the rental that made me wish I had rented this during the summer instead of winter. Would definitely stay here again.

Location, location, location!!! My family and I had a wonderful time during our stay at the Magical Mission (3 bd/2 ba.)! Located right where you’d want to be on Mission Bay! Close walks to EVERYTHING. You truly can just park your car and kick back and relax! We will definitely be back!! Hosts were responsive and very helpful. Super simple check in/out process. Clean, fully stocked with everything you could want! Bikes with locks, sand toys, surf/boogie/SUP boards, kayaks (2), paddle boat, life vests, all you could ever need for a nice getaway trip w. Your family. 2 car garage will fit 2 smaller SUVs. We had a MDX and Highlander… space was super tight, but it worked. there is additional parking behind the garage (parallel to the garage) if needed. Even though there are 2 other units it was very quiet and still felt like we had our own space. We had 6 adults and 2 kids (2 and 5), rooms worked well for our group, just wish there was one more bathroom. Definitely not a deal breaker though. Thanks for a great time!

Best location ever! Walkable to beach, bars, restaurants, shops. The boardwalk was amazing and the bikes, paddle boards , kayaks and all the beach toys were an amazing plus!! The beds are the comfiest!!!!! Amazing sunrise view and the host was amazing, available for any questions and so friendly!

It was a time to just relax, and that we did, had so many fun toys also. Bikes, paddle boards, umbrellas, towels. One thing and it’s not a big thing at all, a tea pot! But still could make tea in one of the pots. Sorry our vacation had to end.

Our group absolutely loved this Mission Beach condo. The location and the property overall far-exceeded our expectations. It made for a wonderful retreat for us locals and our out of town family!

Great location, it’s on the inner bay which I personally preferred as it’s a bit quieter. I was able to sit on the patio and watch my daughter play in the sand. This Airbnb has everything you could want from bikes to board games.

Truly magical!! I can’t say enough about how great this place is for our family of six. It had everything you could need plus some. The pictures don’t even do justice how close you are to the water. It has all the fun stuff too (bikes, paddle boards, kayaks, life jackets, etc) The absolute best place we have stayed so far! Kimberly’s place is absolutely AMAZING. We did a girls weekend there and were constantly in awe of the gorgeous view, fresh air, and beautiful layout of the house. The view is even better than the listing shows. It’s an uninterrupted panoramic view of the Bay which is just gorgeous during sunrise and sunset. It’s literally a few steps from the sand and was very peaceful and quiet compared to the busy Mission Beach Boardwalk. The location is also great, my friends and I were able to walk everywhere (brunch, bars, beach, shopping etc.)

AMAZING place to stay! It was everything we thought it would be for our family and more. Great place for families with kids to stay as there is a lot of stuff for them to do. We had a fantastic experience here! Our kids, 1 and 3, loved this stay and built memories with their cousins here. We kayaked, rented a four person bike, chased sea gulls, played games, checked out the rides at Belmont Park and walked to get take out and so much more. The home had everything we needed and everything was in working order. This bay location was quieter than the ocean side, so perect for our young kids. We would love to stay here again!

This house is great and exactly as described. We went with 3 couples and there was ample room for all of us. It was perfect and we barely wanted to leave after lounging in that lovely space with our morning coffee. It was a cooler weekend so not too much traffic on the beach. We had fun cheering for the neighbor's wiffle ball tournament. Easy walk to coffee and bike riding. Super clean.

The accommodations are incredible. I will definitely be staying here again. The home has such an open feel with the "garage" doors that open up to the bay from the family room and primary bedroom. The home is immaculate and beautifully decorated with a wonderful kitchen and comfy family room. It's a short walk to the ocean side beach, so it was great to have quiet of the bay side, but the option to head over to the ocean. We loved having access to bikes and kayaks. The location was ideal with easy walking access to beaches, restaurants and a grocery store.

This place was awesome. Exactly as pictured and the location is prime! Close to everything and there was so much to do around there. It was great for our group of 6. Spent a long weekend with my lifelong friends and the house was in a great location. Never needed to get in our car once the entire stay. The garage doora and other amenities helped to bring the outdoors in and great time was had by all.

This was our first time staying in the Sand Castle, but definitely not our last time! The location is perfect with the sand & mission bay literally steps from the deck, which was perfect for our grandkids with the calm waters for kayaking & paddle boarding, which where all provided along with a fire pit, and we used them all... and the beach with its waves was less then a 5 minute walk in the other direction! The home itself is spectacular along with all the beach toys & amenities, but the roll up doors topped it off. Everyone walking the board walk couldn’t help but comment on its unique feature & how the home just opened up to the beach. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a wonderful family beach vacation or even a romantic getaway!!!

This AirBnB had everything we needed, and more! The garage had beach chairs, umbrellas, paddle boards, bikes, and the house had all the kitchen and bathroom supplies we needed. The biggest highlight was opening the garage door walls and look out at the beach and bay every day. We couldn't get enough of the view! We will be back again!

I was tempted to give this place a terrible review just so that I can keep it all for myself. But everyone should stay here at some point in their lives. What a wonderful experience at probably the best spot on the whole beach. I’d type a longer review but that would just make you waste more time not booking this place and starting your real life.

I can't say enough about this house and the location. We have been yearly visitors to Pacific Beach but decided to stay on the bay this time. So glad for the choice. This house is better than the pictures! We were on a family vacation with our adult kids and a couple friends. Everyone had a great time. The location was great , whether you wanted the quiet bay or a 2 minute walk to surf at the beach.We were all to park a mid size and a small car in the garage and an suv behind it. The view was magical , beautiful sunrise and incredible evenings. The house is well taken care, has everything you need and it is beautiful. You won't want to leave.

Great location right in front of the bayside walkway. Hosts have extra taken care to provide bikes, kayaks, paddle boards and toys to keep everyone happily busy on the beach. Kitchen is fully stocked with all the dishes and utensils needed to make meals at your home away from home. True gem!

The house is very well designed with amazing views. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had eight people in our party and there were plenty of paddle boards, beach chairs, umbrellas and kayaks. If you are looking to be in the Mission Beach/Bay area, I can’t imagine a better spot.

The word I would describe this place is a GEM! The pictures show what it looks like, only the views are more beautiful in person. Opening of the garage doors in the living room with the view of the bay was a amazing. The area was very quiet, more of a family setting. You have a view of Sea World and their fireworks every night as well as different activities near by. The hosts were great, always sending you things to do in the area, and were very quick to respond with any questions. The other perk was the water toys available, we were truly set for our vacation without having to rent equipment. I would highly recommend this place.

This house makes the best use of its space and light with all of the huge windows and little balcony sitting areas. Thrilled that we were able to use the bikes and kayaks which were provided on site. Such a fun place to be!

GREAT location! Not too far from the Catamaran resort, it’s also an ideal spot on the bay front. Just a short walk onto the beach side, we were able to enjoy all the great spots of Mission beach.

The GARAGE DOORS. Definitely the selling point to amazing views and giving a great indoor/outdoor experience. People waking by were always quick to point them out and compliment them. The awnings and curtains also helped in providing shade or privacy when needed.

A cozy fireplace, comfortable recliner chairs that everyone fought for and plenty of amenities to take advantage of the bay and beach made this an amazing experience. Will definitely recommend and reserve again!

Once we parked our cars in the garage we never had to take them out again - everything is in walking distance! Groceries, cafes, bars, ocean and bay. We used the paddle boards every day and there's bikes and boogie boards - we played smash ball right outside our unit. The boardwalk was great for morning runs and bike rides later in the day. The kitchen is not only comfortable but very well stocked - and the BBQ was easy to use. This would be great for a family reunion if you rented all three units.”

Really great property. Easy check-in. The outside patio is a great spot for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Hosts had everything taken care of. The place was very clean and perfectly ready for check-in.

This place was so wonderful! The garage doors were open from sun up to sun down - the weather was perfect, the kayaks, paddleboards, and skimboards were enjoyed by all, and the kitchen was so clean and had everything we needed to cook some epic meals. All of us cannot wait to return! Also, note there’s a puppy rescue next door so if you’re weak like me, you might just be going home with a puppy... Thank you Kimberly for the hot tips and helping out with our parking situation -the city was laying down concrete in the ally behind the house while we stayed there so we didn’t have access to our garage parking spaces. It didn’t end up being a problem as we just parked at the resort a short walk away and pulled our cars up for loading and unloading.

his rental really exceeded our expectations. The location was close to food and water rental activities (jet boarding, water trampoline, etc.). The house itself is SPECTACULAR! Throw those big doors open and WOW! People walking by commented and took pictures...why, because it is simply impressive. My family came to hang out at the house and were absolutely blown away. Staying on the bayside was a smart decision. My kids enjoyed the water more and it was warmer than the ocean side. The property managers were very communicative and responsive when we had questions. This rental is worth every last penny and really played a significant part in us having an excellent vacation.

The property is in a perfect location! Show a bit of aging, but easily overlooked with the functional layout. Will definitely go back!

Our stay was the perfect getaway to see the sun and surf. The appliances had to have been brand new. The 3 garage doors in the house were Always open when we were there. We spent every day on the kayaks and paddle boards. Thank you so much for an amazing stay!

Our family loved this house!! We stayed here in early November. Great location and a very short walk to the beach side. It was on the bay side so not as busy but perfect for our 3 year old. The house is very well stocked with everything a family could possibly need - towels, chairs, beach stuff, bikes, the best stocked kitchen we have ever experienced! We made cupcakes for our mother’s birthday and there were 3 cupcake pans! I would definitely recommend this place. There were 9 of us and it was plenty big enough. We really enjoyed running along the beach and riding bikes. We opened the garage doors every day and it was very enjoyable

We stayed for one week in July 2018 with 4 adults and 3 children. It was located perfectly in a quieter area of Mission Bay right on the beach. We had plenty of space. Don’t go buy any beach toys because they have it all ready to go in the garage. The property manager, was quickly available and I have never before experienced the level of service she provided. She even dropped off skewers and supplies for s’mores. They have a fire pit to use on the beach too. The kids loved it. The busier beach location is just two small blocks away. There are many restaurants and coffee shops close by (but they supply the coffee too). It is a few minutes from Sea World and very close to the zoo too. We were in the second floor unit and never even heard the guests staying above and below us. The air conditioning is only in the bedrooms so the communal living area does get warm during the day and opening the cool living room garage doors let a lot of flies in. We had to have the fly swatter handy and make sure to not leave any food out. They did provide a couple fans which helped some. Overall it was one of our favorite trips. We are planning to return next year because there is so much more to do in that area-we just did not have enough time.

Loved staying here! It was private enough for our large family. The Master is on one side of the home with two secondary bedrooms down a different hallway. The kitchen was well equipped with all the utensils/pots/trays you could need (or walking distance to several restaurants). We enjoyed paddle boarding, swimming and the fireworks show at sea world from our porch! Highly recommend!
